Today is the day; New Year’s Day!
A new start, a new beginning, a fresh outlook….bring it on!
A Google search of top New Year’s resolutions gives us this top-five:
- Get Fit/Eat Healthier
- Get Organized
- Learn a New Skill or Hobby
- Save Money/Spend Less
- Spend More Time with Family
A Google search of success rate of New Year’s resolutions shows somewhere between 8 and 12 percent achieve their New Year’s resolution goals.
To those of you 8-12 percenters; congratulations and more power to you.
But, for the 88 to 92 percent of US who fail New Year’s resolutions the question is, “why bother?”
I contend there is a way to make changes and it can start today – New Year’s Day – or any of the 366 (it’s leap year) days this year.
It’s “Simply Better”!
- Simply: In a simple manner; clearly; easily; plainly; unaffectedly.
- Better: Of superior quality or excellence.
That’s what this blog is about: In a simple manner; clearly, easily, plainly, unaffected achieving superior quality or excellence.
Who doesn’t want that?
I like the words easily and unaffectedly because that sounds like something I can do.
What I like about the concept of “better” is that it assumes no starting point. Maybe it’s starting at a bad spot or maybe it’s from a great spot.
The goal is simple – better.
So that’s’ what this blog is about; being simply better.
And, it starts today.
My New Year’s Resolution: to do something simple every day that makes my life better.
It’s a New Year’s Resolution that even I have a shot of hitting.
